Music therapy is a way to treat some problems of the body and mind through music. Music makes us feel positive or negative emotions, it balances the rhythm of the heart and breathing, helping to control stress.

Music therapy evokes emotions that are activated in parts and areas of our brain, for example: cortex, amygdala, cerebellum, hippocampus and so on. These areas are more developed and positively activated when working with music. Improves mood, attention, concentration, memory and deep memories. The melodies and specific frequencies, make the mind light and happy, and can treat certain conditions, such as stress and insomnia. Some therapeutic applications of music:

Stress: The calmer and more cheerful tones relieve the tension of everyday life and soothe accumulated nervousness.

Hypertension: The heart tends to follow the beat of music. If the pace is slower, the tendency is for the pressure to drop.

Parkinson: Well-marked percussions help with tremor and gait.

Autism: Playing with musical instruments is a way to interact with others and establish strong social bonds.

AVC: Lyrics and compositions are used to recall words lost after a stroke.

Pain: They found that the amount of painkillers used after surgery was lower in those who listened to music.

Learning: Songs are resources used by schools to help students memorize certain content.
